Consider Watanda Lodge or Cabin for a romantic weekend or your next family vacation

WATANDA, located in Nevada City, CA, is a retired resident camp that has been converted to a residential Vacation Rental for family enjoyment.  The private 10 acres sits on a small 15 acre seasonal lake whose ownership is shared by 3 other working  summer camps  This is a seasonal lake with fluctuating lake levels depending on drought conditions and can be quite low by August.  We can accommodate up to 36 people using all structures.  There is a 3 toilet/3 shower bath house, large lakeside campfire ring and two covered pergolas; charcoal grills at the lodge, cabin and waterfront.  Rentals include use of all canoes, life jackets, kayaks, paddleboard, chairs and pergolas.

If you are a small group, then the cabin might be what you need, larger families might like the lodge.  If you want a more environmental experience, then the kiosks might what you are looking for.  Kiosks are also used for lodge overflow.

WATANDA is PET FRIENDLY for well behaved owners and good citizen dogs.  Pet fee is $15/dog per stay. For cabin and lodge rental.  $10 for kiosk rentals.

Cabin, is our furnished 600 square foot cabin 

will sleep up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids. 

It has one bedroom with queen bed, linens 

provided.  A twin bunk and double sleeper in 

the living room, linens are provided, but only 

the queen bed is made. Porta-crib available upon request.  

There is a full sized kitchen with high chair, 

coffeepot, toaster, microwave and kitchen 

and dinnerware; bathroom with shower. There 

is a wall furnace and split heater/AC unit in 

the kitchen.   Direct TV/DVD, wireless Internet

at the lodge; and phone for local calls. There 

is no cell service.  The cabin has a filtered

view of the lake, but is only steps away from

the waterfront. Cabin is “Pet Friendly”, by pet 

friendly we mean up to 2 dogs and no cats. 

Animals cannot be left alone in the cabin or must be crated in your absence.

Watanda Lodge is a large rustic, year-round building containing a spacious Great Room with

comfortable seating and 10 foot fireplace with insert. We have central heat and air conditioning.

The kitchen can provide food service for up to 36 guests and includes oven with 5 burner cook top and second oven with mircrowave; dishwasher and full standing freezer in addition to large walk-in Chill Box.

The 16 x 54 deck faces the lake seats 36 and comes complete with tables, benches and canopies over tables.  Behind the lodge is a gas or charcoal BBQ.  

Within the lodge is a dormitory style bedroom which sleeps 6 utilizing a king bed and 2 twin bunks. There is an additional twin bunk in the Great Room. 12 pillows are provided. Linens are delivered in sealed zip lock bags, other than the king bed, you will need to make the twin beds. Porta-crib and high chair available. There is a single toilet and tub/shower in the lodge and bath house with 3 showers/3 toilets located behind the lodge but is for summer use only.   There is no smoking in the lodge. There is Direct-TV/VCR/DVD and wireless Internet but has frequent interrupted connection, connectivity is not guaranteed and upload/download speeds are very slow.

KIOSKS are 3 sided elevated platforms about 400 square feet. 200 square feet of this will be roofed. Tents are pitched on these platforms. There are 10-12 mattresses on each kiosk. You will need to provide your own linens or sleeping bags.  Each kiosks has a picnic table, a grilling table, 4 patio chairs, smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and ice chest. Volunteers and Marley do not have parking right next to them, however, parking is about 100 feet away. None of these can accomodate Travel Trailers or RV's. We have 1 RV site which will accommodate two RV's. Caseywood and Gallup have had the bunks removed.  Bath house is located behind the lodge. There are 3 toilets/showers/sinks. It is primitive and in need of a total remodel. A porta-potty is located near the waterfront. Potable water is available at Volunteers, the Cabin and the Bath House. Rental includes complete use of the property and all boats, life jackets, grills, pergolas and camp fire ring. Waterfront is shared space. No camping or loud music on the waterfront. There is an outlet in the bath house for charging phones, and a table with chairs underneath the lodge deck for Wi-Fi with charging station. Wi-Fi is not guaranteed, it is slow and intermittent. 

One dog per kiosk, must be on leash if other guests are present.

Kiosks are seasonal use from about March 1-October 1
